The Ambassador's Final Months

Under construction....

On August 30th 2005, as reported by the Los Angeles Times, LAUSD officials and the L.A. Conservancy reached a deal to end the conservancy's long battle to save the Ambassador Hotel — allowing the district to tear down the building and replace it with a multi-school complex. In exchange, the district made a $4.9-million contribution to a nonprofit organization aimed at conserving historic school buildings in the district.

This final lawsuit attempted to protect the main hotel building from demolition, with the proposed plan of reusing it for affordable housing.
